I met this girl of 21 years in an artificial limb distribution camp at Rotary club of Durgapur. Unfortunately she could not be given the leg as her knee was deformed with a painful ulcer at the leg. Her dreams to stand on her own leg was shattered.
At this point came forward a few fellow Rotarian friends. We arranged for her corrective surgery at Pulse Hospital, Bankura (thanks to the sincere co-operation from Dr. Sujit Mandal) with financial aids from LIC Bankura and few other well wishers. She recovered from surgery and then with the help of few “angels” and the PRAYAS team we arranged a state of the art artificial limb from OTTOBOCK Germany. Roma was back on her feet and able to hoist the national flag at the PRAYAS premises on 15th August 2019.
